Australia Day. Its always a day that prompts me to take a moment or 2 to appreciate just how truly great we've (I've) got it here. I hate how the media talks us down all the time. We've got it good here and I don't care what anyone says, we really still are the Lucky Country. Not just in Diamond Beach but across all of our vast Australian land. Freedom of speech, freedom to live the lives we choose for ourselves and our families, a wonderful environment, easy education for our both our sons and daughters and the ability and resources to help our mates when they need it, to name but a few. Reminding myself of these myriad things also reminds me of how proud and grateful I am to be an Aussie. So whatever you're doing this Australia Day (and if you're in the Diamond Beach/Hallidays Point area I'll probably see you at the Blackhead Surf Club for the Lions Club Australia Day Morning Flag Raising) - take a moment to appreciate just 'how good' you've got it here too and go celebrate Australia Day your special way. I'm going for a ride on the beach. Happy Australia everyone.
