It was smiles and excitement all round x 3 for us last year, when we achieved a winning streak of Awards for Excellence in Tourism for our dog, horse and family friendly holiday home 'Sea Horse Diamond Beach'.
First up it was the local Manning Valley, Gloucester, Great Lakes Business Awards - Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality.
Then success in the Self Contained Accommodation section at the regional Legendary Pacific Coast North Coast Tourism Awards of Excellence. Award nights are always very glitzy and glamorous affairs and this one was no different, being held in the vat room of Cassegrain Winery, Port MacQuarie. Totally atmospheric with the huge wine vats lining the walls.
And then finally ........... da da da da dahhhhh ............. the New South Wales Tourism Awards, in which Sea Horse Diamond Beach was named the winner of the Silver Award for Excellence in Self Contained Accommodation. This award was sponsored by Sydney Weekender and presented by their very popular host himself, Mike Whitney.
These NSW Tourism awards (supported by the NSW Business Chamber) really are the pinnacle for tourism operators in New South Wales and always very hotly contested.
But why are they important (from a local through to a state level) for you, someone looking for somewhere lovely to stay or something great to do on your holiday? Because they highlight operators (from all categories) who are doing great things, offering great products with a consistently superior standard of client experience and service. Its these operators that you want to spend your money and time with. These operators will be proudly displaying the logos of their Award wins, so take note next time. Those awards means you'll be getting something much better for your money. Your holidays are really important to you so make sure you're getting the best. Basically, to even be named as a Finalist, means that that operator goes 'above and beyond' and is a winner. To come home with an award, is well, just WOW!
The presentation nights are also extremely glamorous affairs and for a girl from the beach, a wonderful opportunity to 'glam up' and deck myself out in all the finery I could find! And Chris even donned his tux as well!
The awards nights are usually held in interesting venues and the NSW awards night was no different - being held in the Crystal Palace of Sydneys Luna Park, no less! It was lit up like an absolute fairy land and we were given free rein to make good use of the side shows and amusement rides after the formal presentations - talk about Big Kids enjoying themselves on a very exciting night! Great fun.
We've now got our awards very proudly and prominently on display at Sea Horse Diamond Beach. Check them out when you're here next.
See you on the beach
